Frequently asked

The questions parents and teachers ask first.

What does the free 7-day trial include?

Every student account starts with 7 days of full access — the whole digital library for their grade, unlimited CEAs, and the recommendations that follow. No card, no M-Pesa prompt, nothing to cancel. After 7 days a family tops up with tokens from KES 10 a day, or keeps using the free tier.

Is Keybaki really free for teachers?

Yes. Up to four of the subjects you actually teach, at your level (JSS or SSS), with unlimited lesson planning, unlimited CEAs on those subjects and the classroom presenter — free for individual teachers, forever. Need a fifth subject, or subjects outside your level? That is where the paid add-ons start. Otherwise you never pay.

How does the M-Pesa pricing work?

Parents top up tokens directly from the app via M-Pesa. One token = one child × one day of unlimited CEAs + the weekend revision queue. From KES 10. No card on file, no auto-renewal — pay only when you use it.

Does it work without internet?

Lesson plans, bookmarked library items, and the classroom presenter work offline once you have opened them online at least once. New content and CEA submissions sync when you are back on a connection.

Does my child need their own phone?

No. The family phone is the design target. One parent account can carry up to three child profiles, each with their own PIN. They sign in with the PIN — no email, no phone number, no exposed parent credentials.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. We are KDPA-compliant (Kenya Data Protection Act 2019), child-safety reviewed, and store the minimum we need to run the service. You can export everything or delete the account at any time from the app’s Settings → Privacy panel.

My school doesn't use Keybaki yet — can I still sign up?

Absolutely. Most accounts on Keybaki today are individual teachers and parents, not whole schools. Your child’s data and your lesson plans live with you, not the school. If your school does adopt Keybaki later, your account links in automatically.
